Flora Luebkemann (nee Marucci) passed away on Sunday, March 17 at age 91. She is pre-deceased by her husband William, her sisters Louisa and Joanne, and her brother Domenick. She is survived by her brother Ralph, two sons William (Lynn) of Marlton, NJ, and Robert (Terri) of Cherry Hill, NJ, and six grandchildren: Joshua, Rebekah, Sarah Harris (Nate), Sean, Daniel (Jess), and Matthew, as well as several nieces and nephews. Flora was born September 1, 1932, in Trenton, NJ, and after a brief period her family relocated to Greensburg, PA where her father was employed by the railroad. When she was 5 years old both of her parents passed away. Flora and her siblings spent the rest of their formative years at the Sons of Italy run Dante School in Concordville, PA. After graduating high school Flora lived with her aunt and uncle in Roebling, NJ, during which time she met her future husband William, who was a pinsetter at the White Horse Lanes bowling alley near Trenton, NJ. Flora & William wed July 4, 1953 in Roebling, NJ while William was serving as a photographer in the US Navy. She moved between the Delaware Valley and Norfolk, VA, during the times William was at sea. Upon discharge from the Navy, they lived in Philadelphia in the late 1950s and moved to Willingboro, NJ early in 1960. While William worked as an engineer for RCA, Flora spent most of her time raising her children William, Jr. & Robert. Flora was a room mother, volunteered in the school library, was part of the PTA and did numerous other things during those years. As her children grew Flora attended Burlington County College and received an Associate Degree in Secretarial Science. William, Jr. & Robert think she was the best mother you could have. Flora & William moved to Marlton, NJ, in August 1978, after both their children had graduated high school. In later years, as her children moved on and William retired from RCA, now GE, she and William spent a lot of time being excellent grandparents to their six grandchildren who they loved with all their hearts. They were at many birthday parties, holidays, and sporting events. Flora & William also spent plenty of time traveling. There was a much-anticipated trip to Italy, many trips to California and two road trips completely across our country and back again, as well as many other trips. After William died Flora’s granddaughter Rebekah lived with her for three years. More recently she relocated to her son Robert’s house where she spent her last year. Her family misses her immensely and looks forward to seeing her again with the Lord Jesus in heaven. Visitation will be held at the Catholic Church of St. Mary, 2001 Springdale Road, Cherry Hill, NJ at 9:30 AM on Saturday, April 6. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:30 AM.
